I’m gonna
make a change
for once in my life.
All Quinn Fabray had ever wanted was to be popular, to have everyone look up to her and fear her. To be on top. But, at the start of senior year, she came back to McKinley High a new person; hair pink and clothes drastically altered, she was determined to make an impact. A bit of the old Quinn still remained, though, causing her to seek refuge with Dave Karofsky. The football quarterback was her golden ticket: a friend when she needed one, and a way to stay on top. And for Dave, she became a way for him to hide his deepest secret.
And then there was Artie Abrams. He was, in every way possible, the complete opposite of Quinn Fabray. A wheelchair-bound nerd, he contented himself with being leader of the AV club and hanging out with Kurt Hummel. Their friendship had been forged earlier in high school, the two of them seeking comfort for their differences. Because Kurt- who was openly gay and, as a result, often bullied- understood Artie’s problems. And Artie, being forever handicapped and therefore a common bully victim too, understood Kurt.
So, at McKinley, two unusual friendships bloomed at opposite ends of the social totem pole. Seemingly unconnected, they lived their lives separated, as nerds and jocks usually are. Except for Glee Club. Because Glee Club became the place where hierarchy stood forgotten. And, much to everyone’s surprise, it became the place where Quinn Fabray and Dave Karofsky would realize that they maybe had feelings for Artie Abrams and Kurt Hummel. But just maybe.
